Write Every day They Say

So, if I’m going to write every day, I ought to have a plan, or I could just choose a random subject and write spontaneously – randomness and spontaneity suit my personality. Both words describe actions that occur without a concise plan.

Clarity and action are two concepts I am learning to put into practice as I work on a plan to market my writing business. The idea is to take clear, structured, and deliberate small steps to ultimately succeed in building a steady clientele. Action is, of course, doing something -such as writing this post. It isn’t complicated. Posting every day will create a rhythm.

Following my instincts generally serves me well. When something feels right, I go with it. If it doesn’t, I change my direction. Instinct alone will not build my business.

I am experimenting with building a clear and simple plan that leaves plenty of breathing room.

For me, clarity and action in May look like this:

  • Write one post every day
  • Focus on helpful, interesting, or fun topics
  • Speak to my network of marketers

This month, I’m not abandoning random spontaneity entirely. Some of my posts will indeed be impulsive, depending on my mood and daily circumstances.
